R...E...D -- Remember Everyone Deployed

 

The Dow High Football Team is holding their annual Military Appreciation Night game this Friday, September 13th at home against Bay City Central.  Please join us in supporting our veteran and active duty military personnel. You can show your support by making donations or buying R.E.D t-shirts at tables in hallway in front of the main office during both lunches.  You can also show your support and your Charger SPIRIT by wearing red, white, and blue on Friday at school and at the game that night.

 

Key Clubbers

 

Hey key clubbers! Our first official key club meeting is tomorrow after 7th hour in room 221. Make sure to come by and sign up for some projects! 

 

Come to the Charger Shoppe THIS WEDNESDAY to get your favorite wonderful wednesday treats! Including dippin dots, otis spunkmeyer cookies, and candy!!! See you there!

 

DECA DECA DECA! What's DECA? 

 

Come find out at our first meeting Tuesday, September 10th, in room 353. Meetings will be held before school at 7:10, After 6th hour at 2:30 or after 7th hour at 3:30

Announcement: 

 

The first National Honor Society meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 12th for about twenty minutes, which both probationary and inducted members are expected to attend one. The times are before school at 7:10, after sixth hour at 2:30, and after the seventh hour at 3:30.

 

Are you interested in recycling? If so come help clean the school by joining NHS recycling wednesday morning at 7:00 in Mr. Frye’s room 393. You can earn a half hour of in school hours for NHS but you don't have to the part of NHS to participate.


 

Student Council

 

Do you feel like you don’t have a voice in school? Sick of the same people and adults making all the decisions? Interested in helping with homecoming? Come to room 323 on September 19th at 7 am with your ideas and suggestions and take part in the first meeting for 2019-2020 of the Dow High Student Council--The Voice of Dow High. EVERYONE is welcome to attend and join! Remember, just like with democracy, if you don´t participate, you don´t get to complain. 


 

Attention Students: It's a brand new school year, so that means a new year of German Club! German Club is Dow High's preeminent language club and is open to all students. You do not need to be in a German class to join German Club. You just need to have an interest in things German and a desire to hang out, make some new friends and have fun. We have a new president this year, and she has some exciting plans for the club.

German Club meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. We meet after 7th hour in room 377--that's Herr Smith's room. Our first meeting will be this Tuesday. So come down to room 377 after 7th hour on Tuesday and get involved in German Club!





 

SPORTS

 

Did you miss summer tryouts but still want to cheer on your football team from the sidelines?

 

Sideline cheer tryouts will be held this Thursday, September 12th from 4:30-6pm in the loft. You MUST have a current charger card on file to tryout. Reach out to a current cheerleader or get in touch with Coach Katie with any questions. 


 

Attention all girls interested in playing basketball this winter. There will be a brief informational meeting Tuesday the 10th in Coach Theisen's Room 118 at 2:30. If you plan on playing basketball this winter it is important to attend this meeting.

 

Dow's JV Soccer team moved to 9-0-1, and 2-0-0 in the SVL North with a 9-0 win at Bay City Central.  Hayden Baus and Chip Shumaker led the way in goal, and Justin Schafer, Adam Pfeiffer, and Ian Metzler led the defense in earning the team its 8th shutout.

 

Lance Coleman and Santiago Lopez led the attack with 2 goals each, while Tyler Sanchez, Ian Metzler, Alex Futter, Sam Senkowski, and Jonah Dahn each chipped in a goal. 

 

Tyler Sanchez, Jonah Dahn, and Sam Williamson each had 2 assists, while Lance Coleman and Shota Nishida each had one assist. 

 

The Chargers travel to take on Mt Pleasant this Wednesday

 

ATTENTION HOCKEY PLAYERS:  

Anyone interested in trying out for the 2019-2020 Charger hockey team is to meet this Wednesday, September 11, at 2:35 in room 134.  Please stop by even if you are currently involved in a fall sport. The meeting will be brief.
